Chris Martin, November Project Volunteer

Chris Martin

I grew up on the Norfolk Broads, so boats, from an early age have been a big part of my life. After a brief time living in Central America I came to London to study Anthropology at University College London where I met Alistair, a fellow November Project volunteer.

After finishing our studies I went on to work making television documentaries from countries including Finland and Guatemala, and Alistair went off to help plant the seeds of The November Project with Jay, the Project’s director.

I now run my own film-making company and spend as much of my free time as possible messing about with boats. The November Project not only offers an amazing space in the centre of town for various groups to begin engaging in cross community dialogue but brings culture back to the river.

The River Thames is a long neglected but integral part of our city, full of the psychogeographies of past generations who knew how to use it to it’s full potential.
